On the basis of "Institute of Integrated Circuits and Systems" and "Experimental Teaching Center of Microelectronics and Integrated Circuits", the Integrated Circuits and Intelligent Systems Group was established and put into operation in February 2019. With the development of the new generation of IC technology, the research direction of the laboratory includes IC chip design, circuit theory and system design, intelligent measurement and control and embedded system, sensor network and Internet of things, intelligent information processing and digital medical treatment, etc.

At present, the Group has "Integrated Circuit Design Center of Shandong University" platform, which has multiple sets of legal EDA design tools from manufacturers such as Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor Graphics, Ansys, etc. The whole process supports analog RF chip design and digital ASIC design. With Xilinx, Altera and other manufacturers of multi-functional, multi-type development board, support the programmable chip system SOPC and embedded system development. The institute has successfully designed and wafted "Beidou /GPS analog RADIO frequency receiving chip", "BPSK voice sending chip", "12BIT SAR analog digital conversion chip", "outdoor LED large screen control, display, driver chip" and other chips. In addition, the institute has accumulated many years of scientific research in circuit theory and system design, intelligent measurement and control and embedded system, sensor network and Internet of Things, intelligent information processing and digital medical treatment, and regional enhancement of Beidou navigation.
